WORTH the CA$H! Tall, small, thick or thin, an excellent buy!

I purchased a gently used Baby Bjorn Original for $20-I was amazed by how well it held up after having already been through two baby boys and then onto my little girl. She was a preemie (although a very BIG one!) and the ‘kangaroo time’ (sink on skin time w/mom & dad as much as possible to foster growth etc) was so easy w/the Bjorn-even with my own skin agains the fabric I was comfortable, so I knew my baby was too!

But, I am rather large breasted (plus have all back problems to go with) & was sill very round from baby, and her dad, while VERY thin, is VERY tall (6’3″) so we wanted to test drive the Baby Bjorn Active.

Now, I’m a minimalist parent-I nearly inhaled my gum when I saw the price tag on this puppy-$120 for some straps & a pouch!? I MADE my first sling (which she loved, but again-killed my back)& I paid $20 at a garage sale for my firs Baby Bjorn! Plus, (at the same garage sale) I bought a Peg Perego Martinelli Line Venezia Stroller & coordinating Martinelli Primo Viaggio Car Seat + base (for $50 – aren’t you just green with envy ) and it was BEYOND me (with all instructions & all operation etc. down pat) that it was over $600 for the set when new – as ‘functional & stylish’ as it was supposed to be, it was cumbersome, clumsy, & disorganized (although far better than the other endless strollers I’ve tried- all have now been replaced by my Baby Bjorn Active).

The Baby Bjorn on the other hand, is invalueable! It’s SAVED my back-I hardly tote my daughter around without it, 2 feet or 2 miles & we’re strapped in. Plus, Daddy & I both fit perfectly-although my chest is a bit of a squeeze (however most women, even ‘large’, aren’t a 40DDD so I doubt it would cause any problem) with some minor adjusting on my part, it’s still awesome. My back actually feels BETTER when I carry her now than without her! Plus, the carrier makes you walk/stand a little straighter as you should, and thus you end up with excellent posture, a much stronger back, and far fewer headaches/backaches (or at least we both did!).

PLUS-it’s all but replaced my stroller(s). As I said before, I had tried one of everything, from the top of the line on down to cheapo-depot strollers & EVERY ONE was a PAIN. I’m very active, plus an avid shopper/mall crawler etc. I couldn’t find any combination of two or three strollers, forget entirely just ONE, to fit all my needs (or any at all really). BUT, as soon as I add a baby backpack diaper bag to my Baby Bjorn, I can go ANYWHERE & do nearly anything-crowded malls/narrow isles (even in clothing stores where a stroller knocks EVERYTHING down) & have a contented SAFE baby, a comfortable happy mommy & the best part of all-a functioning back at the end of the day.

TO SUM UP-YOU SIMPLY HAVE TO HAVE ONE—you can TRY to find one used, but you certainly can’t have mine-at least not until she’s EXACTLY AT the size limits!
